The Section 45Z clean fuel production credit pays U.S. producers up to $1.00 per gallon of transportation fuel, scaled to how far the fuel's lifecycle emissions fall below 50 kg CO2e per MMBtu. It applies to fuel produced and sold from 2025 through 2029, succeeded the expired biodiesel blending credits, and can be sold for cash.
