The Section 45Q carbon capture credit pays $85 per metric ton of CO2 captured at an industrial or power source and $180 per ton for direct air capture in 2026, for 12 years, when prevailing wage rules are met. Storage, enhanced oil recovery and utilization now earn the same rate, and construction must begin before 2033.
